Description
As part of our Inaugural Lecture Series.

Join us to hear from Tim Harrison Professor in Postgraduate Clinical Education, for his inaugural professorial lecture: A journey through pharmacy’s history, symbols, practice, and education—exploring the factors that have shaped the modern pharmacist’s professional identity

This lecture traces the evolution of pharmacy from the founding of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society to modern professional practice. It explores the symbols that have shaped the identity of pharmacists and examines how historical traditions continue to influence contemporary roles. Drawing on experiences from clinical practice, the lecture reflects on the responsibilities and challenges facing today’s pharmacists. It also highlights the transformative power of education in developing professional competence, confidence, and identity. Together, these perspectives illustrate how history, practice, and education combine to shape the modern pharmacist and guide the future of the profession.

A drinks reception will follow after the lecture.
