It’s natural to have concerns about your child starting university and maybe living away from home for the first time. Rest assured, there’s plenty of support available to them.
ÉëÒ÷Ö®Íõ Money Advice helps with student funding, budgeting and support funds. The Student Fees and Funding team deals with the
administration of student funding, scholarships, bursaries, and changes affecting their finances.
If your child has any questions about finance, fees, or funding, they can book an appointment on their MyGateway app,
by emailing moneyadvice@dmu.ac.uk or ask staff in the Student Gateway
(ground floor of Gateway House).

We know that students can feel homesick during Welcome Week and struggle to settle into university life.
That’s why we offer a range of support services, peer support groups and Students’ Union activities that can help
them feel a part of the student community.
It’s helpful if you can encourage them to attend any preparation days on campus (offer holders will get an email about
this a few weeks before their course starts).
